The race is on! When Principal Klutz announces that each grade at Ella Mentry School must elect its own class president, the third grade switches into high-gear campaigning.

Of course, Andrea is running. After all, she's Little Miss Perfect. But the boys are afraid that if she wins, it'll mean marching around in uniforms, doing extra homework, taking dance lessons, and singing songs from Annie.

So they convince A.J. to run against her, even though he thinks being president is for nerds. His platform? No homework, extra fire drills, and a video system built into each desk.

Enter Mayor Hubble, who's running in his own race for reelection. Which is a big surprise since he was sent to prison for stealing the gold that was discovered in the school playground. But Hubble is free again, and now he's offering to help A.J. win the election if everyone's parents vote for him for mayor.

And that means trouble.

What's up Mayor Hubble's tricky sleeve? Who will be the class president—Andrea or A.J.? And what does a pet ferret have to do with any of this?

About this Series

A.J. would rather play video games than go to school. But Ella Mentry is no ordinary school—it's staffed by grown-ups who are offbeat, kooky, and just plain weird. In fact, they're so weird that it's usually up to A.J. and his pals to restore order when things get a little out of hand. In the meantime, the kids discover that school can be fun—even the learning part.

These irreverent early chapter books feature cartoon illustrations and characters whose antics will have readers expecting the unexpected. The original My Weird School series has branched out into My Weird School Daze (following the kids from second to third grade) and My Weirder School (which brings the weirdness of the outside world to Ella Mentry).
