Summary

More
Molly Lou Melon is the shortest girl in first grade, but she doesn't mind. Her grandma told her that if she walks proudly, the world will look up to her. So she does.

She also has buck teeth that stick out so far, she can stack pennies on them. Who cares? Grandma told her that if she smiles big, the world will smile along. So she does.

She's also fumble-fingered and has a voice that sounds like a bullfrog being squeezed by a boa constrictor. But that doesn't stop her from juggling on a tightrope or singing out clear and strong. That's because Grandma taught her to believe in herself.

Then one day she moves to a new town, away from Grandma. And the world isn't looking up to her or smiling along anymore. The kids in her new school call her a buck-toothed beaver and a shrimp with a funny voice.

But Molly Lou has learned Grandma's lessons well. They're a part of who she is. So it's time for her to teach her classmates a lesson or two of their own. Cheer along as she does in this deeply touching and amusing book about inner strength, encouragement, and confidence.
