Summary

More
Ralph S. Mouse cannot imagine living his whole life at the old Mountain View Inn. Sure, it's cozy and his family is there, but there's a great big world beyond the walls where the mice live. And Ralph is determined to see it.

Everyone in his family is always pointing a paw at Ralph. If something gets broken, Ralph did it. If something goes missing, Ralph lost it. If the Mountain View Inn becomes an upside-down mess, Ralph is responsible. So maybe it's time for Ralph to take a break. The new housekeeper's son is about to go to school. Should Ralph hop on his motorcycle and join him?

About the Author

Beverly Cleary decided to become a children's book author when her school librarian noticed how much she loved books and suggested she think about writing for boys and girls when she grew up. She began to imagine funny stories about her own neighborhood and the children she knew there, and that's how Ramona Quimby, Henry Huggins, Ellen Tebbits, and her other beloved characters were born.

Cleary's books have earned many awards, including a Newbery Medal for Dear Mr. Henshaw and Newbery Honors for Ramona and Her Father and Ramona Quimby, Age 8. Her work has been translated into 14 languages and has appeared around the world. One of America's most popular and longest living children's book authors, she was designated a "Living Legend" by the Library of Congress. She turned 100 on April 12, 2016.
