About the Illustrator

In 1995 artist Tom Lichtenheld received a letter from his nephew asking for some silly pirate pictures. The result was a book called Everything I Know About Pirates, full of offbeat illustrations and hilarious made-up facts. It was just the first in a string of popular picture books he illustrated, including New York Times bestsellers Duck! Rabbit!Shark vs. Train; and Goodnight, Goodnight, Construction Site. The imaginative pictures in these tales have delighted readers young and old. Featuring innovative points of view and a unique comic style, Lichtenheld's work has enjoyed critical acclaim and a devoted following.
