About the Author

Dana Meachen Rau's father used to bring home paper from work so his creative daughter would stop drawing on the mailbox and the walls of the garage. She majored in creative writing and art history at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut. She worked as a children's book editor before leaving to raise her two children and write full-time.

After beginning her career in the comic book industry, Jana Christy has illustrated comic books, greeting cards, newspaper cartoons—and the World's Largest Children's Book, which was read by Marcia Gay Harden on The Today Show. She lives in the Berkshire mountains of Massachusetts with her husband and two "homeschooled freerange rockstar sons."
