Elly's life is filled with simple things: school, dance classes, her beloved doll, and the birth of her baby brother. As she imagines what their lives will be like when they grow up, the Nazis come to town, and all her dreams vanish. Elly and her family are taken from their home in Romania to a concentration camp.
