Summary

More
Phoney Bone thought he was the most beloved Bone in Boneville. Then he got caught red-handed at a couple of shady deals, so he and his two cousins, Fone Bone and Smiley Bone, were run out of town.

Now they're lost somewhere in the burning desert—without a drop of water!

Luckily, Smiley finds a map that will guide them through the nearby mountains. Unluckily, a humongous swarm of locusts attacks them. In the chaos of the moment, Fone falls off a cliff. When he climbs back up, he can't find his cousins anywhere!

But he does find the map—and a trail of Smiley's cigar. Once it's morning, he'll follow the trail. That is, is if he makes it through the night.

After encounters with two ravenous rat creatures, the Great Red Dragon, and an enormous bug named Ted, he discovers that only one person can help him figure things out—a girl named Thorn.

Will Fone find Phoney and Smiley? Will the rat creatures get him first? What dark forces await him in the valley ahead? Heart-pounding excitement is pages away in this first entry of the BONE phenomenon.
