Summary

More
Milo's life is one big old bore—until the day he comes home from school to find a large toy tollbooth in his room. It's a gateway to the Kingdom of Wisdom, and there is something rotten in Wisdom. Words and numbers are feuding, and only the Princesses of Sweet Rhyme and Pure Reason can restore proper order. Alongside his faithful watchdog Tock, a dog with the body of an alarm clock, Milo drives his electric car forward on a quest to rescue the princesses and save the kingdom.

But finding rhyme and reason in a land of nonsense is easier said than done. Milo gets stuck in the Doldrums, jumps to the Isle of Conclusions, and meets outlandish characters like Chroma the Great and the Horrible Hopping Hindsight. Milo's quest through thickets of wordplay and mathematical mazes gives his lazy mind a jolt, and is just what he needs to appreciate the not-so-mundane world around him.

With undeniable originality and timeless appeal, this children's classic has been using its magical language to cast a spell over readers for more than 50 years.
