Summary

More
Emily Dickinson is often considered a secretive, solitary figure. She lived a secluded life. She didn't have lots of friends. She never married or had children.

But she felt deeply. And the depth of her feeling is immortalized in her poetry. Interestingly, only a dozen of her poems were published during her life. An incredible 1,800 more were hidden away and found by her sister after Emily's death. Whether focusing on the wonders of nature, the joy of beauty, or the mysteries of death, Dickinson had a unique and stirring perspective. She had a dark side, but she saw things clearly, starkly, honestly.

Haunting and thought-provoking, this collection is a wonderful choice for those who love language and intense, heartfelt observations.
